Our Mechanical Seals - A prelude

The mating Faces of seals are carefully selected from various grades of Carbon, Tungsten Carbide, Silicon Carbide, Stellite, Ni-Resist, Supralloy, Hastelloy - B & Hastelloy - C, Bronze, Ceramic, Chromium Oxide coated on SS316 etc. Some of these raw materials are of special grade used for the manufacturing of Mechanical Seals and are imported from reputed manufacturers from U.S.A., Germany, U.K., etc. The secondary seals are made from various grades of Rubber like Viton, Silicon, Neoprene, Buna-N, EPT and also of Teflon, Glass filled Teflon, Graphite etc.

The Metal parts of the seals are usually made of Titanium, Hastelloy-B, Hastelloy-C Alloy 20, SS 316, etc. These Metals are thoroughly chemically analysed for their properties to establish genuinity before being processed. Flatness of highly lapped faces are checked to millionth of an inch by optical light to ensure proper sealing faces. This inspection is done under a Helium Monochromatic check light
